Some facts about Borneo
The Borneo rainforest is 130 million years old, making it the oldest rainforest in the world. There are about 15,000 species of flowering plants with 3,000 species of trees, 221 species of terrestrial mammals, 420 species of resident birds, and 440 freshwater fish species in Borneo (about the same as Sumatra and Java combined). It is the centre of evolution and radiation of many endemic species of plants and animals.

From Passion to Profession
What started as a hobby and a career for founder, Leslie Chiang decades ago has impacted communities and inspired the new generation. Leslie started his career as a tour guide and in 2000 established an eco-tourism company called HASA Incentives where BorneoGuide is the company’s product brand. Growing up in a village environment, he is always passionate about travelling and being close to mother nature and would always organize trips for friends, families, visitors to tropical rainforests.
The company is an extension of his personality.
With its open-hearted approach, BorneoGuide has open its doors to like-minded staffs´ volunteers, part timers and students on vocational experience.
