TOUR NAME: Lankayan Island Dive Resort (LIDR)  

A jewel like tiny island in the Sulu Sea, an hour and a half boat rides north
of Sandakan ; Lankayan has been declared part of an immense Marine
Protected Area to adopt the eco-tourism concept.  Unpopulated and covered
by thick tropical island vegetation on its topside, this peaceful, untouched
little bit of paradise is ringed by an endless pure of white sandy beach,
offering simply elegant and exquisite accommodation in all 16 wooden,
roomy and perfectly appointed seafront double-occupancy chalets and 2
bungalows which consist of 4 and 5 units of standard room respectively.

While the ideal destination for those who search for tranquility and relaxation in a virgin
natural setting and for families with children, Lankayan Island is also becoming one of the
hottest diving destination on the map today: its dive sites - all just a few minutes away -
boasting unbelievable colorful macro, fauna, fascinating wrecks and in season from March
to May, regular sightings of gigantic and harmless whale sharks, the "dream date " of
every diver in the world.

Situated within the Sea Turtle Corridor, Lankayan Island is also a nesting place and
foraging ground for sea turtles; most commonly Green Turtle and Hawksbill Turtle.
Therefore, guest will have a chance to see turtles nesting as well as new hatchlings of
baby turtles released to the sea especially in season from June to September.

Despite the remoteness we are proud to offer all the amenities of a tropical
island resort. Visitors have a choice to stay either in chalets or standard
rooms in twin or triple sharing basis. Made out of local wooden materials to
blend into the natural surroundings, chalets and standard rooms are
attached with private balcony overlooking the white sandy beach and
turquoise colored ocean. Lankayan chalets are well appointed and equipped
with hot bath, coffee and tea making facilities, mini refrigerator and fresh
water from mainland. Power is available with 220 V or 110 V. All chalets
offer direct access to the beach which is in fact just at your front door step.

Meals are informally served at the central open building, which boasts an amazingly
beautiful open-air wooden terrace surrounded by swaying casuarinas, the ideal spot for
after dinner relaxation and chatting, all the while admiring the dozens of juvenile black tip
sharks swimming leisurely a few feet beneath. Occasionally, head out to the sunset bar
for an evening get together BBQ while enjoying the panoramic view of the sun
surrendering for the day.

	A TV room is available for viewing the day's video shots or other footages shoot during the dive. Internet access is also available at the resort's main building which opens daily from 0800hrs to 2300hrs.
	A small over the counter shop that sells souvenirs such as postcards, T-shirts, and other necessities such as film, batteries, and toiletries is integrated at the central open building.
	Water sport gears and equipments for diving, snorkeling and ocean kayaking activities are available for rental at the dive centre

Package Includes:-

3. 3 meals per day plus served in buffet style. Tea, coffee and water available throughout the day. (self service)
4. Afternoon tea and snacks after 3 rd dive.
5. Accommodation on twin/triple sharing basis in  Lankayan Island
6. 3 boat dives daily around the Island except on arrival/departure day + unlimited shore dive.
7. Provide tanks/ weights and belt. Limited gear available for rental.
8. Unguided night dives right in front of the resort for qualified divers only.

 

OTHER ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE - Snorkeling/Swimming and ocean kayaking

Terms & Conditions

Reservation/Deposit/Full Payment

Reservation should be made through Axtivo Sdn Bhd and appointed travel agents' office at least sixty (60) days in advance. A non-refundable deposit of USD 200/person (RM 760/person) is payable upon confirmation of diving & stay or accommodation package. Full payment must be made at least thirty (30) days before arrival date.

 

For Sepilok Nature Resort Booking, payment should be made in full upon confirmation.

 

Late Bookings

Late bookings in less then thirty (30) days will be accepted subject to availability of accommodation. All late booking requests should accompany full payment in advance.

 

Accompanying Children and Infants

Child price is based on child aged 3 and above but below 12 years old sharing a room with adults. There is no package for infants and child below 3 years. 50% of the non diver package price will be charged to child between 3-12years old.

 

Package Price Excludes

Diving equipments & gears, Beverages and meals not specified in the tour itinerary, laundry, room service, airfare and item not mentioned or specified in brochures.

 

Extension Stay

Extension Night Stay is permitted subject to the accommodation availability.

 

Cancellation Charges/Refund.

After commencement of service, no refund, in part or full, will be given for services included in the package Programme which have not been utilized, in the event of cancellation after deposit and full payment, the following will apply:

 

a) From 29-16 day's b4 arrival in Sabah - 30% of the trip's full price forfeited
b) From 14 days to arrival date in Sabah - 50% of the trip's full price forfeited.
c) From 7 days to arrival date in Sabah - 75% of the trip's full price forfeited
d) "No show" by customer - 100% of the trip's full price forfeited
